I wouldn't know what the order of conception was, so to speak. I have the DVD and also the novel of "Manor House". And a second novel "The Adventure at Ferryman's Creek." Obviously any of these projects might have turned into a series. Your synopsis is helpful, I found both of Gerald Frow's Young Sherlock novels a rather confusing read, and I don't normally have any such difficulty. By the way, Lewis Fiander is also the narrating voice of the older Holmes. I expect you know by now that there are various Boyhood of Sherlock prequels, including one by Shane Peacock in which he has humble, half-Jewish origins. And the most consistent series is by Andrew Lane which runs to I think eight books now. With (inevitably) plenty of criticisms, I have enjoyed these very much.
