The Above Average Films Volume II: 2009-2014

I was surprised at just how many Above Average Films (those that scored a B-) there were between when I started and today.  I have never believed that films today are terrible.  These films are once that I enjoyed, that I thought well of, and that I think are good.

However, again something about them was not among the greatest films I have seen.  They could have been better in some way, which is why while they did a good job, they failed to reach a higher grade.  There were a total of 83 films between 2009 and 2014 which earned a B-.

Albert Nobbs (2011)
Arbitrage (2012)

Bully (2012)

Too low?  Too high?  I already got a request for a "Second Look" for The Avengers from James the Movie Reviewer (or as he's known around the house, 'the only guy who ever reads your stuff').   Done deal: once the semester and the formal ranking announcements are made, The Avengers will get another viewing to see if it will go up...or down.

As always, comments are welcome.

Next time, the Average Films that Are Good and got a Passing Grade...barely.

  1. For me, the only thing that keeps Avatar above average is its special effects. Other than that, it is just a rip-off of Dances with Wolves and several other native America films with blue people. I wish James Cameron would start making good movies like T2 and Aliens again and not more Avatar movies.
    Thanks for the link Rick!
I don't see any movies that I think are worth a "Second Viewing" yet, but when I do, I will let you know.
